The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny

Review
This novel suffered from an overabundance of ideas (and pages), and lacked the style that I loved in “The Inheritance of Loss”. I did enjoy Sonia's subplot with her lost amulet; Sunny's reflections on otherness and his experience dating an American; the mother-son dynamic between Sunny and Babita; and Mama's break with Papa and her move to Cloud Cottage.
Maybe to drown out these questions about the future, they decided to swim one last time. Two people, united by the ocean-maybe nothing can undo that, the future cannot undo the past.
