This book felt like a weird, unconvincing mash-up of 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' and 'Catching Fire'. I didn’t feel like it added much to the series, and Haymitch seemed out of character to me.

But from where I'm sitting, hope seems a lot like white liquor. It can fool you in the short run, but like as not, you’ll end up paying for it twice.
